As General Counsel, you will:
Manage the company’s IP portfolio and advise on IP matters, liaising with and managing external patent and trademarking professionals;
Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and legal documents;
Assist and advise on the structuring of corporate and commercial transactions;
Provide legal support to a variety of departments across the Group including: engineering and design; operations; sales; marketing; HR; finance;
Engage and liaise with external parties including: inventors and licensors; suppliers; customers; insurers; and external advisers, both Irish and international;
Plan and oversee the legal budget; and
Keep up-to-date on legal and regulatory matters affecting the business and help implement any required changes.
As the ideal candidate, you have:
A graduate or post-graduate law degree, and a current practising certificate;
7 years PQE, preferably a mix of working in a commercial law firm and an in-house corporate legal department. This level of experience is intended as a guide only and does not preclude you from applying for the role if you have more or less experience than this;
strong experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of agreements;
experience and familiarity with IP;
strong influencing capabilities, along with superior interpersonal and relationship building skills; and
strong commercial awareness and experience in identifying and managing legal and business risks.
Salary is competitive but dependent on your level of experience.
